The Children

I am the voice of the children ~
simple and honest and clear.
Forever the light in the darkest of night.
I have not gone away, I am here.

I am the eyes of the children ~
with vision beyond my years.
I focus my sight, unblinking and bright,
unclouded, except for my tears.

I am the soul of the children ~
innocent, blameless, and pure.
My spirit, undaunted, through violence flaunted,
will conquer and ever endure.

Rmemeber the trust of the children.
Darkness will not have its day;
take hold of my hand, and we'll both understand
that the children will show you the way.
