I have always adored animals, cats are my favorite and they are treated with the utmost respect in our home. All animals deserve love and respect and that comes in various forms ~ depending on the animal and their needs.
Please understand that I have never been treated poorly by any animal. No animal has ever called me names, laughed at me, or treated me any way but with respect. I cannot say as much for humans. I once told a friend, "If there is such a thing as re-incarnation, I want to come back as one of my cats!" A truer statement could not be made. Cats seem as drawn to me as I am to them, that is usually obvious when I am in the company of these precious creatures.
My husband and I live in a rural area and kittens, puppies, all manner of animals are dumped in our area. It is a tragic method of disposing of an animal that once was a pet. These animals are usually helpless due to human efforts to treat them as though they should just be able to fend for themselves after a brief encounter with humans when they are cute and cuddlie babies. Once the new has worn off and the animal is not any longer that cute, soft little face but that of a growing and now dependent animal so why not just throw it away?!
I have had to make some fairly sad calls to "Dead Animal Pick-Up", the pound, many
veterinary offices and any number of animal aid type organizations to try to get help for any number of animals at one time from one to 5 or more on occasion. If these animals had been given proper respect, they would not be dumped in my area and I would not have to go through this with animals that could indeed harm or bring disease to my own pets to say nothing of my family and friends and these animals that are still to have to face fear and abandonment by someone they trusted.
I am listing animal assistance links on my "causes" page so please go there and click on one or more of them to see how you too may help with a preventative rather than a cure.
No heaven will not ever be Heaven be;
Unless my cats are there to welcome me.
